The green grassy park is about 100 metres by 100 metres, on the corner of Frederick and Milson Street, with 'back' access from Dickinson Street (behind the treeline). On the Charlestown Public School side is the open air Public Playground. A small toilet block is on Frederick Street side.

On the other side of Frederick Street is the local Public Swimming Pool.
(But its access is from Dickinson Street, further down at the T-intersection of Charles Street, near the Adventist Church.) While the website says picnic tables, I remember only seeing one unshaded aluminium table.
