The old Astoria City Hall was dedicated on July 4, 1905. It served as the city hall until 1938 when the city moved into the current city hall. During World War II, the building was used by the USO to serve thousands of military men stationed in or near Astoria. The Columbia River Maritime Museum used the building from 1962 until 1982 when it moved to its current location. The Clatsop County Historical Society then bought the building for a museum.
