The Rumah Adat Banjuang Museum was opened in 1844. In the museum you get to know the rich Minangkabau culture of Sumatra. Traditional costume, weapons, sculpture, miniatures of architecture, clothing, musical instruments, tools and carvings are on display.
The museum is located in a typical classic Minangkabau building that, like the zoo, can be found at the highest point of Bukittinggi.
