East of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at 4216 N.E. 63rd Street, is a 4-sided brick sign for the church. Mounted on top of this brick structure is a cast iron bell which once rang from an older church building.
The bell has a No. 30 sized yoke and was manufactured by the C.S. Bell Co. in Hillsboro, Ohio. The C.S.Bell Company began making cast iron bells in 1875 and operated into the 1970s. As this yoke shows "The C.S. Bell Co.", the time frame for this company designation was after 1894. Numerous churches display bells from their former church buildings, and it is commendable that these bells are cherished and preserved.
