Bosher's Dam was originally installed along the James River in 1823 blocking access to Shad and other fish from migrating up the river. 176 years later, a 17" wide fish ladder was installed to provide an avenue for the fish to migrate further up the river which was to help declining fish populations. Wikipedia mentioned a park may open along the north shore of the dam where the ladder resides, however no official decisions have been made as of September 2022.
