This dated building is Cassel Mennonite Church located on the corner of 17 Line and Cassel Side Road, just east of Cassel, Ontario. Built in 1900, the church was initially built for the United Brethren Church in Canada. The Gothic Revival white brick church was then taken over by the Mennonites around 1935-1943.

The dated stone is located near the front entrance, to the left of the tower door. It appears there may have been a secondary stone on the tower itself but it is illegible. There is however a stone on the side of a building where an extension was added in 1994.
Year of construction: 1900
