At the turn of the 20th century Chase Creek Street was the center of the Clifton business district. Clifton is a copper mining town in Eastern Arizona. Business must have been good as this building is impressive 115 years later. Mining towns typically go through a boom-and-bust cycle which may have eliminated the chop house, but its edifice remains. The sign on the right indicates that it is open and on the left it claims English. Sadly, the lower half of each sign has been obliterated.
