The Kitsap County Veterans Memorial, in Waterfront Park in the Old Town neighborhood of Silverdale, was dedicated in 2004. In addition to the American flag and the POW/MIA flag, the memorial flies flags of every branch of the Armed Forces, including the recently added U.S. Space Force.

The metal railing above the memorial is studded at regular intervals with insignia of each of the Armed Forces (minus Space Force). Below the railing, echoing its shape, is a semicircular concrete bench. Next to this bench and below the flags is a concrete depiction of the continents of the world. (This feature could make for a really great outdoor game of Risk, btw.)

Description of Memorial:
I found this memorial by accident, when I took a wrong turn and found myself driving around Old Town Silverdale. The memorial is located in the two-acre Waterfront Park in Silverdale, on the banks of Dyes Inlet. The Clear Creek Trail runs through this park and past the memorial, and there's a gazebo just southwest of the memorial where visitors can sit, eat and enjoy the surroundings. It's very picturesque and peaceful.
