Cette éoliennes, ou plutôt cette pompe éolienne, comme il convient mieux de l'appeler, descendante directe de ses aînées bien connues dans les paysages du Far-West, servaient (et servent encore) à remonter l'eau située dans un étang ou sous la terre à faible profondeur, pour remplir une réserve, une citerne ou un abreuvoir à bétail.
Celle-ci en bordure de la route, fonctionne encore et alimente une ferme.
