Golden Dagger Tin mine is located in Central Dartmoor in the UK to the south of the mighty Birch Tor and Vitifer Tin mining complex.
Golden Dagger mine got it's name from a prehistoric Gold and Amber handled dagger that was found nearby. Commnencing work in the 1800's it was a rich and successful mine for over 100 years. Both surface and underground mining took place.
Easily accessible as the mine is located in a National park.
The ore mined was Cassiterite - (Tin Dioxide) with Specular and Micaceous Hematite (Silver oxides of Iron). Hematite is scattered and easily found all around the site.
The co-ordinates are for the miners dry which is located a few yards from the now filled adit and tramming level entrance. The remaining of areas of interest connected with the mine are as follows:-
