This 5-paneled mural measures approximately 8' x 75', and honors the fallen wildland firefighters of the Prescott Hotshot Crew, as well as other first responders. The artist, Julie Hutchins, offers a fantastic blog about the painting of this mural. You can read it (

From left to right, you will first encounter a police cruiser, along with an officer and his canine companion, standing next to the car.
Next, we find the veterans and active duty military section. In the background are crossed American and Arizona flags. Members of all four service branches are represented in front of the flags.
Further right is a scene involving a restored antique fire engine from Prescott. A banner on the side of the engine says, "Thanks! To our protectors & heroes past and present."
Now, we find 2 of the Hotshots' transport vans - one a greenish color, the other white. These are representative of the vehicle that the Hotshots would travel to a wildfire in.
Finally, we have a shield that appears much like a standard fire department patch, only specialized in this case to honor the fallen Hotshots.
All in all, this is a fascinating and VERY well done mural, and definitely worth a visit if you're ever in the area.
