The azimuth mark is set in the top of a granite boulder that sits approximately 55 feet to the south of the western Y-junction of Hermosa Road with Stevenson Road. The azimuth mark can be reached via Exit 329 on I-80 (travel south on Monument Road and take a right [west] turn on Hermosa Road before reaching Ames Monument). A shorter route to the azimuth mark would be to take an eastward turn onto Hermosa Road from US 287.

From the junction of US 287 and Hermosa Road at N41 04.825 W105 30.436, drive northeast on Hermosa Road for 1.85 miles. The azimuth mark is about 55 feet south of a road junction and set in the top of a granite outcrop.
