Una escultura de bronce en la plaça, a la altura de El Pixaor, simboliza desde ayer a todas aquellas personas aquejadas por algún tipo de enfermedad mental o discapacidad intelectual. La escultura representa la figura de una xixonenca ya fallecida, Teresa Bernabeu García, conocida como "Tereseta Voleu-me". "Teresa nos dio a todos una lección sobre lo que verdaderamente necesitan las personas como ella: atención y cariño, repitiendo constantemente a todos los que se nos cruzábamos con ella por la calle: voleu-me, voleu-me", resaltó el alcalde Ferran Verdú en su inauguración. El hijo de Teresa Bernabeu fue ayer el encargado de descubrir la obra, que ha tenido un coste de 21.000 euros para el Consistorio.
