[EN] "Farges-en-Septaine is a pure example of a small rural Romanesque church. Its plan is a reduction of the Cluniac form, with a central tower and no transept. The nave was still vaulted in wood at the end of the last century. It is now covered with plaster over exposed joists. It extends into a rectangular space covered by a fairly high dome, resting at the corners on trunks.

The heavy tower above is supported by tiers-point arches resting on engaged columns. The choir has a pointed barrel vault. A barrel-vaulted arch, also in the form of a pointed barrel, rests on backsplashes with engaged columns and opens onto an apse with a semicircular vault and three round-headed windows. The nave is lit directly by windows whose round-headed splaying on the outside ends in a pointed arch on the inside.

Outside, only the apse is slightly decorated. Its double-pierced, recessed double-arched windows are framed at the top by a chamfered stringcourse. The central tower is topped by a heavy slate belfry, finished with an octagonal spire. The repetitive use of pointed arches, as well as the interior decoration of certain capitals featuring crude figures and elegant ferns, date this building to the mid-12th century.

In 1992, the Sauvegarde de l'Art Français granted a grant of 60,000 F to repair the masonry."
