Company 1821 of the Civilian Conservation Corps constructed Palo Duro State Park from 1934 to 1937. Part of their work was a fine recreation hall. The center of camp social life, this is where the men gathered to read, play games, and socialize. All that remains today is the stone chimney. Note that the chimney is behind a fence; you can look but cannot touch. There is a parking pull out to the south and a path that leads to this location.
