La célèbre Petite Maison Blanche est située dans le secteur Le Bassin de l'arrondissement de Chicoutimi de la ville de Saguenay, Québec.
Sa célébrité vient du fait que le 19 juillet 1996, la Petite Maison Blanche et tout le quartier environnant subit une inondation causée par le débordement du barrage situé tout près, en amont. Les dégâts sont très importants. Les maisons du quartier où se situe la Petite Maison Blanche sont soit emportées par le torrent, soit gravement endommagées par l’eau qui se déverse du réservoir pendant 4 jours. Ce débordement du barrage fut causé par des pluies torrentielles sans précédent. On appela cet événement « Le déluge du Saguenay.
Alors que tout le quartier est détruit, la Petite Maison Blanche reste intacte.
Le quartier environnant la Petite Maison Blanche ne fut jamais reconstruit après l’inondation. Il fut aménagé en un parc municipal où se trouve la maison.
En 2005, on aménage à l'intérieur de la maison un musée.

The famous Little White House is located in the Le Bassin sector of the Chicoutimi district of the city of Saguenay, Quebec.
Its fame comes from the fact that on July 19, 1996, the Little White House and the entire surrounding neighborhood suffered a flood caused by the overflowing of the dam located nearby, upstream. The damage was very important. The houses in the neighborhood where the Little White House was located were either swept away by the torrent or seriously damaged by the water that poured from the reservoir for 4 days. This overflowing of the dam was caused by unprecedented torrential rains. This event was called “The Saguenay Flood.”
While the entire neighborhood was destroyed, the Little White House remained intact.
The neighborhood surrounding the Little White House was never rebuilt after the flood. It was developed into a municipal park where the house is located.
In 2005, a museum was built inside the house.
