To reach the triangulation station from Exit 227 on I-25, drive west on Smokey Gap Road for about 4.33 miles to the intersection of Smokey Gap Road and Long Canyon Road. Drive north of Long Canyon Road for about 1.75 miles to the intersection of an unnamed two-track road on the west side of Long Canyon Road. Travel southwest then west on the two-track road for about 2.55 miles to where the road intersects a barbed wire fence. Go about 0.35 miles northwestward along the barbed wire fence to a gate. From the gate in the fence, the station is located 0.11 miles away are a bearing of roughly 347 degrees.

The station mark is set at the summit of the hill in the top of a square concrete monument that projects about 6 inches above the ground. Both reference marks and the azimuth mark were recovered as described and in good condition, and have been posted as separate waymarks.
