Saint Alexis Orthodox Church, initially a student group at Purdue University, evolved into a parish in the 1980s as local Orthodox sought a full-time priest and permanent location. Services were held at a Catholic chapel until 1993 when Fr. Charles Sunderland, appointed by Metropolitan Nicholas, led the mission parish. The church moved to a permanent site in 1998, saw growth, and later relocated to Battle Ground, Indiana, in 2014. The parish serves a diverse community of Orthodox and converts and is part of the American Carpatho-Russian Greek Catholic Archdiocese under the Ecumenical Patriarch. Source: ( visit link)
