The train station in Williamsville, IL. The railroad was the Chicago and Alton RR. The tracks were their line between Chicago and St. Louis. The railroad later became the Gulf, Mobile, and Ohio RR, then Illinois Central Gulf, Southern Pacific, and finally and currently Union Pacific. There are ten Amtrak trains (five in each direction) that go by here, but do not stop, everyday between Chicago and St. Louis. The closest Amtrak stops are Springfield, IL, about 12 miles to the south and Lincoln, IL, about 16 miles to the north.
This depot is now the Williamsville Public Library. The open hours are listed below.
