Ross Sterling was president of the Humble State Bank. In 1908 this lodge was organized in order to accomodate the Masons. F. K. Wise, a local Justice of the Peace, was a founder. Ross Sterling provided meeting space in the bank. In 1912 the bank burned to the ground. The Masons bought the property and built the lodge.
