Two "Duumviri" (mayors) presided at the assembly. These presidents were chosen for one year and their function gave them considerable power, limited jurisdiction, taxes, leadership of the municipal council and right of veto, preferable seats at the theater, etc.
The Curie of August Raurica (Augst) forms, along with the forum, the basilica, and the temple of Jupiter, an architectural unity.
In the lower room of the Curie is an exhibition of mosaics.
