Central Steam Heat Plant, located at 152 S. Post St. and 815 W. Railroad Ave., Spokane, was built in 1916. The architect, builder, or engineer: Arnold & Company. Architectural Style: Renaissance. The Central Steam Heat Plant provided heat for many of the downtown buildings in Spokane and remained operational until 1986. It was rehabilitated in 1999 and reopened as an office and retail space, and a restaurant. Go inside the building and stand at the bottom of one of the massive smoke stacks. I took the photograph of the Central Steam Heat Plant from the living room window of a suite in The Davenport Tower.
