The Battle of Jonesboro
The Battle of Jonesboro took place at the Craighead County Courthouse in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on August 2, 1862, Company 1, 30th Arkansas Infantry of the Fifth Trans-Mississippi Confederate Army, under the command of Captain Mitchel A. Adair. Defeated Company 1, 1st Wsconsin Cavalry of the United States Army of the Southwest under the Comman of Lt. Charles L. Porter, seven Yankees and one Confederate were killed in this battle.
