Along the banks of the Columbia River, Portland Meadows has been the premier horse racing venue in Oregon since 1946. Although this track is listed as primarily a thoroughbred facility, quarter horse and harness events are also run here. Satellite wagering is also popular. Ironically, while much of this area is involved in horse breeding, this is the only major track between Seattle and the Bay Area.
Types of Races: Thoroughbred
Racing Season: From: 10/07/2007 To: 03/11/2008
Year Opened: 09/01/1946
Additional Information: No slot machines that I recall. Betting is allowed on site, of course, not only for the races being physically held here, but all the OTB betting as well. Parking is plentiful.
