The current Amtrak Train Depot and Greyhound Bus Terminal formerly served as the Chesapeake & Ohio Freight Depot and was built on the site of the former Aldine Hotel. It is located in the oldest part of Ashland, near the Ohio River.

This building, originally constructed in 1906, was falling down and dilapadated until renovations in the 1990's turned it into a functioning Depot again. This is one of the few times that a freight depot has been converted into a passenger depot.
