The Madonna family has owned the mountain in San Luis Obispo for many years. The mountain is one of a string of extinct volcanos that run from San Luis Obispo to Morro Bay. Madonna mountain is a favorite hiking spot for the people of the city. At christmas, a lighted tree is always visible at the top of the mountain.
