The Eakin Burial Plot. This is the resting place of the young Eakin children who died of either Dyptheria or Scarlet Fever. The graves which are marked by unreadable stones sit in an overgown and unmaintained plot.
STONES HAVE THE FOLLOWING INSCRIPTION:

Mary A Eakin, Died: 11 Sept 1847
John Eakin, Died: 2 April 1845, aged 1 month 6 days
Children of B & M Eakin
James Eakin, son of C?, Died: 1 March 1845
James and Nancy Eakin were the third family to arrive and settle this area in 1806.
There are several ways to hike into the waymark the best and shortest place to start your hike is to park on Locust Lane NE. Best place to park and start your hike is N° 40 38.438 W° 081 20.356. The hike into the cache is uphill and at least a 1 mile round trip.
Be sure to mark the location of your vehicle.
