Classic revival, three-story, bone brick with granite and terra cotta trim, plaster and metal cornice. Ornate swags and medallions inscribed with "C" decorate the cornice line of this building; the entrance is flanked with giant order columns.
The Carnegie Building was one of the over 2000 libraries created with funds from Andrew Carnegie. Built in 1903, this was the first library building on the campus of Penn State University. Currently, the building is used as classroom and office space for the College of Communications at Penn State.
