Exiting the castle ruins from the backside gives visitors another out of the ordinary experience. A 50-metre suspension bridge leads form the best-preserved part of the castle to the rest of the Castle Park, across the 13-metre deep valley in Castle Hills. This unusual bridge was a gift from the landlord of the Tarvastu manor in 1931. Originally the landlord personally used it to get easier access to his family chapel.

Silla oli linnale 1928. aastal kinkinud endine Tarvastu moisnik Karl von Mensenkampff. Rippsild oli varemalt paiknenud Tarvastu vallikraavil, kus ta kergendas Mensenkampffide juurdepääsu sealsetes linnusevaremetes asuvale kabelile. Viljandi rippsilla portaalid on valmistatud firma "Felser & Co" poolt Riias 1879. aastal.
1931 Paigaldatakse rippsild Kaevumäe ja Lossipargi vahelise oru kohale. Sild on 50 meetrit pikk.
Sild on rekonstrueeritud 1995. aastal
