The stone part of the monastery is constructed of blue porphyry quarried from the hill behind the monastery. Each stone was individually chiseled and placed by hand. The windows are faced with locally produced bric.

The bright red twin bell towers are 97 feet tall and are clearly visible from Highway 95 as you cross the Camas Prairie.

The towers are home to the four bells used to call the sisters to prayer three times each day. The bells are named in honor of the Sacred Heart, St. Joseph, St Gabriel, and St. Michael. The last two bells were given to the Benedictine Sister by the monks of the St. Michael's Monastery when it closed in 1925.
