The project started in 1992 and finished in 1994. It is constructed of conduit tubing, stucco, wire, plywood, papier mache covering. The final finish is gel coated fibreglass.

The Ka' Kah Wad is an important part of the local Pacheedaht culture. The Pacheedaht belong to the whale, thunderbird and/or wolf clans.
