This is my eagle scout project that was completed October 30, 1999. The rank of Eagle Scout was fully awarded April 20th, 2000.
I am still a registered and very active leader in this same troop (Troop 184 out of Loveland), we are growing and having a great time!
The project was originally to construct 6 benches for park visitors around the nearby ponds. I decided to change that to 12 full benches to better serve the area's needs. From time to time I stop by and check out the park, years of abuse and vandalism have taken their toll on some of these benches, but they are all there! "Johnny loves Suzie" etc etc is carved in some of them, but they are holding up!
Numerous businesses donated material to this cause, none of it was purchased with any grant money or donated money. It was all 100% donated materials! Hundreds of volunteer hours went into this project from many friends, family, and Scouts. And I thank them all for their help with this project!
