The fireworks display is visible from almost everywhere in town but is particularly spectacular from the edge of the bay. The fireworks are shot off from a barge anchored next to the commercial wharf. Surprisingly, the view from the touristy Fisherman's Wharf is not quite as good, since the buildings may block the full view. The best way to get a view is to spend the evening on someone's boat tied up to one of the docks in the city marina. The next best way is to walk or bicycle a couple miles along the bayside Coastal Trail from a uncrowded parking spot (in Seaside) and find a seat among the crowd beside the harbor.
