The Pangborn-Herndon Memorial Park is named after the first non-stop Trans-Pacific flight, made by Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon II in 1931. They landed near the site where the park is today.
The park has a walkway to an overlook, surrounded by open grass, a few trees and bushes. The focal point of the park (other than the view), is a 14 tall monument. Made from a basalt column taken from nearby Moses Coulee, and topped with two flying birds made from molten aluminum.
The beautiful view overlooks the Wenatchee Valley, including both Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, the Columbia River, and the Cascade Mountains.
