The train station in Didsbury was built in 1902 to service Didsbury and the surrounding area. It was located on the main line between Calgary and Edmonton. When passenger service was discontinued in the 1980's it was left abandoned. In 1991 the Canadian Pacific Railway donated the station to the town of Didsbury and the station was declared a Provincial Historic Site. The local Lions club embarked on a project to restore it. With a donation from Eldon Foote, a lawyer who grew up in Didsbury, the station was turned 180 degrees and moved slightly away from the tracks. It was renamed Eldon Foote Hall after it's benefactor.
