"The Brownville Bridge spans the Missouri River for 1904 feet. It was constructed in 1939 by the Bethlehem Steel Company US Hwy 136. The bridge was completed in October 1939 for a cost of over $700,000. Its dedication on December 11, 1939 featured speakers, local band performances and a festival-like atmosphere.
The Brownville Bridge was originally a toll-bridge but is now owned and operated by the State of Missouri. The bridge is on the National Register of Historic Places. - Visit Nemaha County website
