[FR] Ces fours construits en maçonnerie,étaient maintenus à une température de 800° à 1200°C. On y enfournait le calcaire, pierres impropres à la construction, et par l'action du feu,celui-ci se transformait en Chaux. Les ouvriers conducteurs de ces fours, étaient appelés des "chaufourniers"
[EN] The ovens constructed in brick, were kept at a temperature of 800° to 1200° C. Limestone blocks which were unfit for construction were burned transforming them into lime. The workers who manned the ovens were called "chaufourniers"
