This brick memorial raises funds for the Port Austin Veteran's Memorial in Veterans Waterfront Park. It was dedicated on Memorial Day of 2008. Bricks are $25 and can be purchased for any veteran, alive or dead, of any US conflict. In addition to the main brick area, there is a smaller area just to the north specifically for those killed in action.

The poster's family has purchased several bricks for relatives who have fought in both World Wars, the Korean War, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
