The existing St. Marks Church was originally the elmentary school, until the school needed larger facilities. To commemorate this the Paudash Women's Institute erected a cairn featuring the old school bell, on June 25th, 1971. The school was built in 1885 and was known as SS#4, in Faraday. The buldings still stands as a church, but is no longer in use but for special occasions. A new and larger church was built just down the road.
