Marker Inscription: Site of a popular resort hotel, built in 1832. Water from the springs was reputed to have curative value. Hotel was used as a military hospital during Civil War. Last owner was Levi P. Morton, vice-president under Benjamin Harrison. (visit link)

When a person died, to keep the hotel reputation, they secretly took the dead to a cemetery, about two miles away. Many markers in this cemetery have no name on them. (visit link)
