This bridge, just north of downtown Akron, was constructed in 1926. It was originally used by the AC&Y (Akron Canton and Youngstown) Railroad. It is now owned by the W&LE (Wheeling and Lake Erie) Railroad. It has an approximately 700 foot span. It crosses Cascade Valley of the historic Ohio & Erie Canal (opened 1827) and the more recent Towpath [hiking and biking] Trail.
The bridge replaced an earlier bridge built in 1890 by the Pittsburgh, Akron and Western RR.
