Figures of a man and woman stand with their backs to each other, arms upraised, supporting a sphere, gesturing in celebrated dance. The man has short, wavy hair and wears only shorts. The woman is barefoot with pulled back hair, and wears a full-length, strapless gown, slit at the proper right thigh and swept back to reveal her legs. The sphere consists of four golden bands with three figures suspended on its surface in either dance or flight, including a toddler, a three year old, and a five year old. The toddler is without clothes, and the girl has bangs and wears a short-sleeved dress, her proper left hand raised. The boy's midsection is covered and his arms are upraised, joined behind his head. The sculpture's base is short and circular, mounted upon a circular base and placed in the center of a circular, bricked basin, surrounded by a walkway. A bricked wall with memorial plaques is on one side of the walkway. A light is directed toward the sculpture.
From the plaque on the wall:
“Celebration of Healing"
"Celebration of Healing" is intended to represent a world of men, women and children filled with hope and joy.
The figures are rejoicing in celebration. The meaning relates to the Sisters of St. Francis Medical Center because, by caring for the sick and needy, they are able to help, restore and heal. The service they give influences the world for good.
Their message is preserved in this bronze monument which will stand for generations.
From the second plaque:
