In Cambridge, on the Cambridge Common, is a monument that is a memorial to the sufferers during the Great Potato Famine or "The Great Hunger" in Ireland.
The sculpture consists of a polished stone base and two figures in bronze: a man standing with a child in his arms, and an woman sitting with an infant in her arms. Both figures are roughly styled and, according to the entry, represent hunger and sadness at parting.

The Cambridge Common is a large park area that is west of Harvard University. Parking is available around the common, but it might be hard to find an open space. There are buses and a subway station nearby, however.
