Richard Conner
was a Irish immigrant, born Richard O'Connor in 1719, first migrated to Maryland and served for Virgina during the Revolutionary War.
The first records I can find of Richard Conner settling in Michigan is June 14, 1782. This date is said when he and his family came here to seek their son who was held captive by the Moravian Indians. He was married to Margret and they had 4 sons, James, John, William and Henry. They became one of the first families in the Moravian Settlement due to the permission of the Moravian's. He and his family were one of the first white families in what is now Macomb County and his Granddaughter was the first white born here. Richard Conner died April 17, 1808.
