St. Abrahams Lutheran Church was founded in 1834 and once called Shavers Church or Abrahams Church.

The church was erected in 1856, renovated in 1905 and a bell tower added in 1915. In 1975 the existing church extensively renovated and a christian education unit added.

The church celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2006.
