PT: Localizado no interior das muralhas medievais, é um Monumento singular (e ainda enigmático) da arquitectura civil românica. Segundo Leite de Vasconcelos, foi construída no século XII. Já serviu de cisterna e foi posteriormente adaptada a paços do concelho. Tem uma planta hexagonal e paredes de granito. Tem um conjunto de janelas de arco abatido, que dá iluminação ao edifício. Ao longo da cornija, que é suportada por 64 cachorros, corre uma caleira, destinada a recolher a água da chuva, conduzida depois até à cisterna.
ENG: Located inside the medieval walls, is a monument of civil Romanesque architecture. According to Leite de Vasconcelos, was built in the twelfth century. Already served as a tank and was later adapted to town hall. Has a hexagonal plan and walls of granite. Has a set of arched windows down, giving light to the building. Along the cornice, which is supported by 64 dogs, runs a gutter designed to collect rainwater, led then to the cistern.
