The Tobin House is modified English Tudor Gothic residence designed by architect Willis Polk. The house was built in 1915 for Constance de Young, next door to the now demolished, de Young mansion. A second matching house was considered for her sister Helen de Young, but was never built, as Helen moved down the peninsula. One can still see half of the Tudor arch that was intended to span the driveway between the two houses.
