"The most intimidating thing about the Reidsville Rams is how unintimidating they are. There's no swagger, no smack-talk, barely a high five when a play goes their way. It's just a relentless onslaught of football, as steady an assault as waves hitting the shore. You know what's coming, and yet no matter what you do, you can't seem to stop it." ~ Tom Keller, Greensboro News & Record (12/13/2009)

Congratulations to the Reidsville Rams who won their third straight state high school football championship on Dec. 12, 2009. It was also their third straight undefeated season! Their current 48 game winning streak is believed to be the second-longest active streak in the country and third-longest winning streak ever in North Carolina high school football!

The Rams' 2009 Football State Championship was their 18th, more than any other high school in the state. On May 14, 2008, <ahref= "http://www.ncleg.net/Sessions/2007/Bills/House/HTML/H2075v1.html">NC House Joint Resolution 2075 proclaimed the city of Reidsville the "football capital of North Carolina." Reidsville's seventeen other championships or co-championships came in 1930, 1931, 1932, 1937, 1939, 1940, 1943, 1945, 1950, 1954, 1963, 1969, 1970, 2002, 2003, 2007 and 2008.

Located at field level is a blue column from the Rams' former Kiker Stadium which the Rams' players each rub before going on the field. The plaque on it reads:

"As the home of 14 state champions, the people of Reidsville knew that it gave the teams of Reidsville mystical powers. This piece of Kiker Stadium is one of its last remnants. Rub it and receive the same mystical powers."

As of this posting, through the first six games of the 2010 season, Reidsville remains undefeated, running their winning streak to 54, now the longest active winning streak in the nation and the second-longest winning streak ever in NC (Charlotte Independence, 109). They have also extended their streaks of 184 games scoring and 132 games scoring in double digits!
