A lovely local granite roadside pillar listing all those who fell during the first great world war. Minnigaff is the older settlement with Newton Stewart the newer. The parish is named after the older, Minnigaff.

The area around the memorial is covered in granite chippings and presumably sprayed by the council to keep the weeds under control. There is a bench to one side and on the other the old village water pump.
The memorial is on the east side of the road, and is a Grade C listed monument. (visit link)

The west face reads:"In memory of the gallant men of the parish of Minnigaff who fell in the Great War 1914-1918".
