After the end of World War One the people of Fulda thought it would be a nice thing to
Create a memorial to all the soldiers from the area that fought in that great war.
Lot of ideas were suggested and they final came up with an idea of a bathhouse for
The soldiers and their families t use and enjoy. Building was started in 1920 and the summer of 1921 it was opened for use. In 1922 electric lights and a toboggan slide was added. In 1929 a floating platform for swimmers was added.. with the passing of time and lack of use disrepair took its toll and in 1944 parts of the bathhouse were removed and the remaining part was move a short distance to the east of the original location. Now you can visit the memorial and see actual foundation stones of the bathhouse.
